Teenager with Autism Memorizes Entire Quran

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A teenage Egyptian boy who has autism has managed to learn the entire Quran by heart.

 

Mohammad Majdi, 18, was diagnosed with autism at the age of 4, his mother, Hala, said, according to al-Yawm al-Sabi.

She said the first expression uttered by Mohammad as a kid was Allahu Akbar (God is great).

He has been listening to Adhan (call to prayers) and recitation of verses of the Quran by prominent Qaris since an early age, she added.

Mohammad has memorized the Quran along with learning Tarteel and Tajweed recitation, his mother went on to say.

Autism is a developmental disorder characterized by troubles with social interaction and communication, and by restricted and repetitive behavior.

Parents usually notice signs in the first two or three years of their child's life.

Autism is caused by a combination of genetic and environmental factors.
