Top Cleric Urges Bahrainis’ Vigilance against Discord, Sedition
Sheikh Qassem in a statement highlighted the deep differences between the people of Bahrain and the Manama regime about issues such as normalization of ties with the Zionist regime, political prisoners and the rights of citizens, Afaq News reported.
He said Bahrainis should remain vigilant in the face of plots being hatched to foment discord and create disunity in the nation.
The senior cleric also warned about an onslaught on Islam and attempt to distort it by despots in the region and by terrorist groups like Daesh (ISIL or ISIS) who shed the blood of innocent people and desecrate Islam.
Each and every Muslim has a responsibility to help the religion by promoting virtue and preventing vice and by introducing true Islam and its values, he went on to say.
In recent weeks, Bahrainis have held numerous rallies to voice support for Sheikh Qassem and his call for implementation of genuine reforms by the ruling regime and to express opposition to normalization of ties with Israel.
They have been demanding that the authorities abandon their heavily-discriminatory policies, and instead start recognizing the people as the source of the state’s power.
