The Arab country’s Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs organized the competition earlier this week.
The organizing committee said 355 contestants won the categories of memorization of 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 chapters of the Holy Quran, including 290 females and 65 males, who were tested during this week.
Some 1,600 Qataris and expatriates took part in the first round of the event.
The committee has allocated prizes of about QR1m to the winners to motivate citizens, the daily Peninsula reported.
