IQNA – A Takleef celebration, which marks the start of religious obligations for individuals, was held for girls hailing from West Asian countries at the Imam Reza (AS) shrine in Mashhad.

The ceremony was held on Tuesday with 24 young Arab girls with their mothers in attendance.

“Religious obligations are the most approved of things with God; In approaching God, individuals need to act as He stated,” Hojat-ol-Islam Seyyed Mohammad Zolfaghari, deputy for International Pilgrims Affairs, said while addressing the event.

He stressed that “approaching God means reaching transcendence and prosperity, which is the goal behind the creation of mankind and can be realized via fulfilling religious obligations.”

He added that holding such a ceremony for the young girls will help consolidate divine commandments for them; therefore, it will both “remind them of religious obligations and can be a starting point for them to become righteous servants of God.”

Expressing that celebrating any of the blessings from God is a way of worshipping, Hoj Zolfaghari continued: “Coming of religious obligations age is a blessing since we have reached mental and physical maturity to receive and fulfill God’s orders.”

He concluded his remarks by saying: “This ceremony is sweet disciplinary and spiritual memory.”
