The Eid prayers were performed at the holy shrines of Imam Hussein (AS) and Hazrat Abbas as well as Bain-ul-Haramain, the area between the two holy mausoleums.

Sheikh Ahmed al-Safi led the prayers and delivered the sermons in Karabala, al-Kafeel website reported.

In his sermons, Sheikh al-Safi criticized the silence of the world countries and media on what is going on in Palestine, especially in the Gaza Strip.

He also slammed the United Nations for doing nothing to stop the Zionist regime’s massacre of Palestinians and to restore the rights of the Palestinian people.

Earlier the office of Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani, the top Shia cleric in Iraq, had declared Wednesday to be Eid al-Fitr in the Arab country.
