Order and discipline play a major role in helping us in different aspects of life, including in the field of controlling emotions. One who has emotional discipline can protect himself against the eruption of emotions and acting imprudently.

Emotional discipline is about being able to effectively manage one’s feelings. A Muslim who follows the teachings of the Quran and the religion can regulate his feelings and emotions based on Islamic criteria and principles.

Emotional discipline is the best way to express emotions and feelings properly and adequately. It is the best way to having order in daily social activities and regulating emotions and actions. It enables one to control his desires and fake inclinations and prevent feelings and emotions from controlling him. Emotional discipline helps one to have rational behavior in all circumstances.

Quranic teachings give direction to emotions and offer a perfect and sure model for ordering emotions and blocks the way for emotions to influence decisions and actions. These teachings have a quite systemic structure and one can categorize a significant number of verses in this regard in a practical model.

The formation of faith in God and having the belief that God is omniscient and omnipotent, that His will dominates the whole world, that our sadness and sorrow will go away if He wills, and that we will all return to Him, and realizing that the world is transient help us to control many emotions and feelings like fear, sadness, and greed.
