The Tarteel recitation for boys is held at Dar-ul-Hujja Rawaq (roofed space attached to the holy shrine) after noon prayers and the one for girls is held after Maghrib and Isha prayers.

The participants recite one Juz (part) of the Quran every day during the holy month.

This is just one of the special programs organized by the Astan in Ramadan.

There is another Tarteel recitation program for teenage girls slated to begin on March 21 at the holy shrine’s Hazrat Zahra (AS) Rawaq.

Another event called “Spring of Quran, Spring of Life”, which includes lessons of the teachings of the Holy Book, is also held every day at the Dar-ol-Quran Center of the holy shrine for 30 days, until the end of the holy month.

A large number of pilgrims are expected to visit the mausoleum of Imam Reza (AS) in Mashhad in the following days with the arrival of Nowruz holidays in Iran (will start on March 20), which this year coincide with Ramadan, the month of the Quran.

Ramadan, which began on Tuesday, March 12 this year, is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar.

It is a period of prayer, fasting, charity giving and self–accountability for Muslims around the world.

The Quran was revealed to the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) heart in this month.

During Ramadan, Muslims fast (abstain from foods and drinks) from sunrise to sunset.

They also devote a considerable amount of time during this month to reading and contemplating the Quran.
