Nat'l Quran Competition for Children and Teenagers Slated for Next Week

The 36th edition of Iran's national Quran competition for children and young adults will be held in city of Karaj, 30 kilometers west of Tehran.

According to Vali Yarahmadi, head of the Quranic Affairs Center of the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization, 154 boys and 115 girls will take part in the competition in separate sections.
He said the boys' section will be held on Saturday, September 13 and the girls contest is slated for Monday, September 15, IRIB News reported.
The official added that the categories of the competition are memorization of the Quran, recitation, and Tarteel.
The boys will also compete in the category of recitation of Adhan (call to prayers).
