The India-based Foundation for Distribution of Quran says it plans to translate and publish the Holy Quran in 50 languages.

Fadhl al-Karim, director of the foundation, said the plan aims to promote the teachings of the Holy Quran and Islam.
He said the translations will be distributed among those in the world who want to know more about the teachings and tenets of Islam.
In a recent meeting with Abdallah Ben Abdel Mohsen al-Turki, secretary general of the Muslim World League (MWL), al-Karim discussed ways for cooperation between the foundation and the MWL in rendering the Quran into various languages and distributing them among Muslims and non-Muslims in India and elsewhere.
