Muslims Celebrate Prophet's Birthday in Fiji

--Aroud 7300 Muslims gathered at Govind Park to attend Prophet Mohammed's [PBUH] Birthday celebrations yesterday.
Chief guest at the celebrations was the Attorney-General and Minister for Jusitce, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.
"We must live in peace and harmony without the terrors of other countries," Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said.
"The messages yesterday revolved around the birth of our Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and the prayers and advice that he gave to us. We are very happy for what he has given us and we are proud to celebrate his birthday today," said the owner of Khan Buses Limited, Mohammed Nasir Khan.
He added that through the prophet's birth Islam was born and the messages from the Quran were made.
Mr Khan said the celebration was successful with the speakers giving the public good advice.
Students of Kamil Muslim College welcomed the guests in an elaborate manner.
Speeches by the Imam of Lautoka Mosque, Haji Hafiz Musa Patel along with the national president of the Fiji Muslim League, Haji Hafizud Dean Khan, were of the life and values of the prophet.
The president of the Sunni Ualama Board of South Africa, Moulana Mohammed Yousuf Gaffar, spoke of the qualities and characteristics of the prophet.
And from the Al Hijaz University in London, Maulana Zainul Aftab Siddiqui encouraged the public to follow their faith and to believe.
