Three Arrested on Suspicion of Involvement in Attack Targeting Iraqi PM: Source
TEHRAN (IQNA) – Three individuals have been taken into custody on suspicion of involvement in Sunday’s assassination attempt on Iraq’s premier, an Iraqi source said.
Russia’s RT Arabic quoted the source as saying that the country’s security and intelligence forces have so far detained three people.
The source did not disclose any details about them or their affiliations.
Security sources said six members of Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Kadhimi's personal protection force stationed outside his residence in the Green Zone were wounded in a drone attack targeting the premier on Sunday.
They said three drones were involved in the attack, two of which were shot down by the security forces.
Some analysts believe that the United States has been behind the attack.
