Religious Books, Qurans Presented to Ugandan School

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Iranian cultural office in Uganda has offered over 100 books on religious topics to a school in Jinja.

 

Iran is marking the national ‘week of book’ on the occasion of the demise anniversary of Allameh Tabatabai, a renowned thinker in contemporary era.

To mark the event, Iranian cultural office in Uganda offered books to Jinja’s Aminol Raaya Islamic school.

More than 100 books about religion, culture, history, Islamic Revolution, and Iranology, seven copies of the Quran with English translation, 20 copies of ‘Anecdotes of Pious Men’ by Morteza Motahari with Lugandan translation, and 25 copies of Kumayl and Tavasol supplications with Lugandan translation were the books offered to the school’s library in a ceremony.

A number of local officials and students’ parents also attended the event where Iranian cultural attaché in the country Mohammadreza Qezelsofla delivered an speech.

He pointed to the necessity of reading while also referring to some of the characteristics of the late Allameh Tabatabaei, the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization reported.
