The World Halal Summit, which is being held concurrently with the expo, aims to address the issues and potentials of the halal economy, such as ethical and social implications, current and future trends, benefits and risks, and creative and artistic potential. The theme of this year's summit is 'Gateway to the Global Halal Economy: Realize and Unleash the Potentials.
Yunus Ete, the head of the World Halal Summit Council, said that the expo is one of the most important commercial cooperation platforms. He also said that the Halal market is expected to reach $10 trillion in the next five years, and that there is high consumer demand for healthy, halal and organic food products.
The World Halal Summit and the OIC Halal Expo are two major gatherings for products and services that conform to Islamic guidelines (known as halal), which are held annually in Istanbul since 2014.
According to the OIC Halal Economy Report, Türkiye, Indonesia and Malaysia have managed to become among the top 20 exporters of halal products.
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is an intergovernmental organization founded in 1969, consisting of 57 member states, with 48 being Muslim-majority countries."
